Panagiotis handles a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious matters with a special focus on the tourism and shipping industries. His unique background as a ship agent in the 80s and early 90s turned economist turned lawyer, combined with his successful handling of a variety of extremely niche cases has earned him the position of chosen personal advisor for industry leading investors and executives.

Panagiotis has made a point of taking on the most challenging and complex investment needs of his clients, including setting up high value domestic and foreign investment projects such as mining operations, privately managed marinas, large scale touristic facilities and others. One of Panagiotis’ biggest assets is his deep understanding of environmental law; having served as vice president of the 2004-2006 Legislative Committee for the drafting of the comprehensive amendment of the Greek «Coast Law» (L 2971/2001) and as legal counsel of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) and the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), he is able to navigate the numerous coastal, forestry, archaeological and other environmental restrictions and deliver practical solutions to every kind of business endeavor.

For over three decades, Panagiotis has handled civil, criminal and administrative disputes before all degrees of administrative committees, Courts of law and arbitration tribunals. He has also successfully completed numerous high value transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt restructuring, licensing and franchise agreements and novel association and shareholding schemes.

George’s work primarily focuses on shipping finance, S&P transactions and contentious matters including maritime collisions and casualties, which involve an international element.

He started his career at a Greek maritime law office, following a long term as an inhouse lawyer working for a major Greek Bank, has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating financing agreements both in shipping and in real estate transactions, loan and securities documentation.

He closely works and cooperates with ship owners, financing and banking institutions worldwide, ship brokers, underwriters, ship managers, charterers and operators, building constructors, investors, providing start-to-finish services. 

George is involved for more than thirty years with nearly every aspect of marine activity, handling several S&P transactions for ships and Yachts worldwide, registration of same and related tax and customs matters, chartering and ships management agreements, commercial disputes and litigation, formation of domestic and foreign commercial, maritime companies, establishment of foreign maritime companies under the special regime of the Greek law.

Vasilios holds a diverse academic background which extents from Company and Business Law to Shipping and Engineering. He holds positions in several clusters, institutions and organisations such as E.U. and Middle East chambers of commerce. He is a legal consultant to ship-management, ship repair and trading companies mostly in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Lebanon.

A natural consequence of his background; Vasilios works with ship owners, ship managers, brokers, underwriters, banks, marine engineers and shipyards in marine cases, with a special focus on seaworkers’ and H&M insurance claims. His practical understanding of ship repairs and actual working conditions allows him to quickly grasp the key variables of every claim and his extensive involvement in the day-to-day operations of a marine servicer has honed him into a skilled negotiator with special attention to detail. 

Vasilios’ expertise in marine transactions includes off-shore company formations, start-ups companies, tax planning, commercial and technical management agreements, s & p transactions, shipping financing and insurance agreements. He has handled a variety of marine insurance claims including collisions, claims for loss of life and injuries (at sea, air and land) and cases for environmental pollutions and litigation in commercial disputes. His moto is ’problem solved’ via alternative dispute resolutions as he has acted as an international arbitrator in Middle East cases.

Stelios’ main focus is corporate structuring, commercial agreements, international trade and intellectual and industrial property rights. He also handles a variety of commercial claims and partnership/company administration disputes.

Having drafted hundreds of business agreements, from real estate and equipment leasing to distribution and franchise, Stelios is a firm believer that a lawyer’s duty is not only to resolve conflict but also to take every available measure to prepare for and prevent it from arising in the first place. Stelios mainly works with business owners and investors providing guidance and solutions for their shareholders’ agreements and corporate structures, as well as their transactions with third parties.

Stelios has also helped numerous foreign investors in identifying and acquiring real estate that is suitable for commercial exploitation both in the context of Golden Visa issuance and as standalone investments. His background in accounting allows him to also consider tax optimization strategies when providing solutions to the day-to-day operation of all kinds of businesses and investment projects.
